All the things that you say do not work go through the signal light switch.it may need replacing. First make sure the bulbs and fuses are OK and power is getting to the signal light switch and to the brake light switch. Nice car! Posted on Aug 31, 2009.
Lift up on the latches and remove the upper portion of air box. Unplug the intake air tab and mass airflow sensors. Pop the breather line off and undo the thumb screw. Rock the upper part of the intake forward and remove it from the vehicle. Your IAC or idle air control valve is located on the back of the throttle body on the driver's side.
Right now my solution is to adjust the idle up a bit to compensate. And that does mean that me cars runs at about 1100 rpm at idle with the A/C off, and drops to about 800 rpm with the A/C on. I thought about some sort of idle solenoid, but I am ultimately going to replace the Rochester FI with a Rochester EFI conversion system, so I'll just

Also, beings that you have idle set for 1000, make sure your MIVEC isn't set higher than base in the 1000 rpm idle range. Below 1000, the ECU will default to the base values. Test: Unplug the compressor's plug to prevent the clutch from kicking on. If the engine still bogs, something is messed up in your ECU.As Rob said in the previous post the The PCM uses the IAC valve to hold the idle setting in your tune. The idle speed should not surge 200 RPM when the A/C is turned on. Using DataMaster If you look at a normal trace you will see A/C request come on, followed by A/C clutch status and A/C relay status. The Lincoln Electric electronic idle system used on the SA-200 and older SA-250 machines with DC auxiliary power, will respond to both weld and auxiliary power. This system uses battery power to operate a solenoid which pulls the throttle against the governor to a preset low idle position. This idle system gets its power through an oil pressure
1. Faulty IAC Valve The powertrain control module (PCM) uses the idle air control (IAC) valve to control idle speed. Basically, the IAC allows a certain amount of air to bypass the throttle plate. The extra air enriches the air-fuel mixture during a cold engine start.
At an idle, air flow through the carburetor is not sufficient to draw the fuel in, like it does when it is running. Small passages, below the throttle plates, allow the engine vacuum to draw the fuel in. We can usually adjust the air/fuel ratio by turning the idle mixture adjustment-screw.
When the 5.0 is running lean, the exhaust gas will have more oxygen so the O2 sensor will generate less voltage. If the engine is running rich, it will have less oxygen and the O2 sensor will produce a higher voltage. As the sensors age, the voltage range drops, and the voltage change lags the changes happening in the exhaust gas/oxygen.

So my car gets a bad idle surge when the AC is turned on and I begin to slow down. If I am just cruising there is no issue what so ever with the RPMs or changes in how the car runs. It is only when I turn the AC on and slow down to a stop. The car will surge and needs throttle to level it3. If there is suction after warm up then there is something wrong with the FIT valve, turn the car off and let it cool down. 4. This is where the manuals tell you to change the FIT valve with a new one, but there are actually a couple of things you can do to "fix" it.I found this write up. Apparently there is also a red adjustment knob inside the amplifier case. Turn the blue knob fully CCW, and set the red knob toThere is an air/idle control screw on the intake that needs to be adjusted. If the air/idle control gets out of adjustment, the engine idle will go up and down. It has to be set at about 650 - 700 rpm on an automatic and a little higher for a standard transmission.
Put the belt on and adjust the bolt to the desirable tension. Then adjust the front nut. To this point all mechanical mod is done in a 90%. The rest is piece of cake!!!! It’s important you make sure the new pulley lines up with the crank pulley. Any defect even by 1mm can cause belt and bearing premature wearness.
